About Øyunn

In November 2023, Øyunn released her debut concept album Aspects on the Danish label Midnight Confessions. Recorded live at the Munch Museum in Oslo, the project was originally conceived as a multidisciplinary performance piece combining film, live music, and performance art. The Danish music magazine GAFFA praised the album as a tour de force, awarding it five stars and noting:

"...I’m My Own sounds like an early Björk work – both melodically rich and chaotically aggressive at once.”

Since then, Øyunn has been honoured with the Tivoli Jazz Prize for Innovation for her genre-defying voice as a composer, drummer, and vocalist. She was also named New Jazz Artist of the Year 2024 at the Danish Music Awards.

A powerful presence on stage, Øyunn captivates audiences with her rhythmic drive, expressive vocals, and deeply personal lyrics that explore themes of relationships, hope, inner restlessness, belonging, and identity.

About LiveStrings

The acclaimed Scandinavian string ensemble LiveStrings was founded in 2011 by Norwegian cellist Live Johansson, and has since become a prominent presence on the Nordic music scene.

LiveStrings has performed on major Danish television programmes and at nationwide events for the Danish Royal Family. With strong Danish-Norwegian ties, the ensemble has appeared on stages both in Denmark and internationally, most recently alongside Norwegian stars such as Kaizers Orchestra, Kygo, and Beharie.

Musically, LiveStrings spans a wide range of genres – from classical, Nordic, and contemporary compositions to pop, hip hop, folk, and film music. While they most often perform as a string quartet, LiveStrings appears in a variety of larger and smaller formations.

On this evening, LiveStrings will perform as a string trio, accompanying Norwegian singer Øyunn.
You can also catch them earlier in the day at the 17 May Concert at the Orangery, where they will perform in celebration of Norway’s Constitution Day together with Norwegian opera singer Tuva Semmingsen, pianist Nicolai Kornerup, and guitarist Mads Reinhold.
