Tivoli Jazz Award

Tivoli Jazz Award

A Tribute to Performing Jazz Musicians

The Tivoli Jazz Award celebrates the talents of musicians on the Danish jazz scene. A series of awards, each accompanied by a grant, will be presented, and every recipient can be experienced live in concert with Tivoli’s jazz orchestra, Tivoli Orkestret, conducted by Peter Jensen.

Naya Buric returns as host of the Tivoli Jazz Award for the third time
With her captivating storytelling about the music and the prize recipients, Naya has a unique ability to bring jazz vividly to life beyond the stage.

Currently Head of Music and radio host at DR P8, Naya Buric has cemented her position as one of Denmark’s most prominent jazz communicators. Her talents as a host and presenter have, among other things, resulted in the award-winning podcast "Uden Sidestykke", which was named Music Program of the Year at Prix Audio.

This year's awards and accompanying grants are:

  • Inspirator of the Year (Two grants from the Beckett-Fonden)
  • Innovator of the Year (William Demant Fonden)
  • Communicator of the Year (William Demant Fonden)
  • Children’s Jazz Award (Gangstedfonden)
  • The René Daugaard Grant

The award recipients, who will perform on stage during the awards ceremony with the Tivoli Orchestra, will be revealed at a later date. It promises to be a unique evening in Tivoli, where jazz music will be honored and celebrated in beautiful surroundings.

The Tivoli Jazz Award was first awarded as a single annual prize in 2020. Since 2023, Tivoli has partnered with Jazz Danmark to present a broader range of honours. Jazz Danmark is a non-profit organisation dedicated to promoting jazz in Denmark and raising the international profile of Danish jazz. It is supported by the Danish Arts Foundation and private foundations.
