Join the Danish Concert Band (Rødovre Concert Band) for a breathtaking program that showcases remarkable versatility—from the dark, Nordic tones of Finland to the bright, uplifting melodies of Denmark, as the Danish Concert Band pays tribute to Danish composer Jacob Gade. This special concert celebrates one of classical music’s most seductive masterpieces, marking its 100th anniversary this year.

A major highlight of the evening is the Danish-Japanese big band phenomenon Miho Hazama, who will premiere her multi-movement suite—commissioned by Danish Concert Band—conducting the performance herself.

The program also features delightful and comedic ballet music in the dazzling suite Pineapple Poll, as well as the grandeur and swinging rhythms of Philip Sparke’s award-winning masterpiece, The Year of the Dragon. Adding to the excitement, a festive surprise awaits with upbeat and entertaining American circus music.
